….you put 50+ harpists including 4 HarpArts alums, 3 HarpArts faculty all conducted by HarpArts director, Lynne Aspnes on a stage playing Amazing Grace, arranged by HarpArts faculty member MJ D’Arville? Answer: An amazing performance by the Atlanta Harp Society Harp Ensemble which also included works by Holst, Ortiz, Joplin and Albeniz.
And how does this fit into the HarpArts experience? HarpArts encourages ensemble opportunities which helps me focus on listening to, hearing the entire group and following the conductor. It fosters the desire in me to take my music to others, and it gives me the technical and musical skills to accomplish this. |
